We've got the logo and the Home Page and it's looking good! This is the story so far: after a long, untypically grey Isle of Wight winter spent reading newspapers, magazines and watching television (amongst other things) and feeling rather melancholy, I decided it was time to do something positive.

My motivation came from the urge to justify my existence and to forge a career for myself, coupled with a hippyish 'take on the world and win' attitude. What am I trying to say? Many things! There is apathy in people nowadays, a tendency to raise the drawbridge, cocoon yourself and look after number one and number one's family. We have become a nation of nimbys (not in my back yard). Most employers force us to be accountable for what we do and to assess our productivity to a nauseating extent. Why then are we not looking at ourselves and assessing our productivity in terms of what we put in or take out of the environment.?

I thought it would be a good idea to set up a website where we could pool our ideas and share our actions. Whilst reading the daily papers it became obvious to me that what happens in one town, in terms of green issues, doesn?t necessarily happen in the town next door.
